MALAYSIAN STUDENTS SOCIETY OF CARDIFF  (MSSCF)

Festival of Diversity—MSSCF’s pride and joy, is an annual theatre production abounding in displays of culture and tradition. In beautiful irony, the Festival of Diversity unifies through celebration of the diverse. The Festival aims to promote Malaysia’s rich and varied cultural offerings, thus bringing together Malaysians and non-Malaysians alike, in the shared pursuit of appreciating ethnic Malaysian culture. This year, we shed a light on East Malaysia, which makes up almost a third of Borneo Island.
This musical depicts a warrior's struggle to protect her motherland from the unwelcome blitzkrieg of development, which threatens the traditions and the home she holds dear to her heart. The story unfolds as we take you through East Malaysia’s fascinating indigenous cultures and wildlife, regaling you with a tale set in the epoch of Imperial Britain and the ensuing spread of influences over Sarawak. We hope to showcase a different side of Malaysia that is often overshadowed by the Peninsular. This year we proudly present, Festival of Diversity VIII : RIMBUN.
